Roger
Preston & Partners has been the driving force behind the
development of key energy-efficient features on Inonder’s
striking new residential tower in Aldgate, central London that
has recently been submitted for planning.
|
|
The
25-storey, 28 450m2, Hamilton Associates designed development
has 287 apartments, including affordable housing, and
features the following systems enabling the scheme to
comfortably meet or exceed the carbon emissions targets
of Part L and the London Plan:
- High-efficiency glazing
- Biomass fuelled community heating
- Extensive use of low energy lighting
- Specification of low energy white goods
The main building features an irregular rounded corner
plan form while, at lower levels, new buildings with green
roofs extend the existing street frontages and mediate
between the new public park and the residential tower.
