The project,
known as CityLife, after the
consortium of Italian companies that form the client
body, involves the redevelopment of the extensive fair
and exhibition hall site in the centre of Milan.
The Design Team includes signature firms from around
the world and is split into four distinct groups, each
responsible for key elements within the development:
• Studio Libeskind, based in New York City, lead
the team on ‘Il Curvo’ tower with its associated
residential and public amenity buildings.
• Zaha Hadid Architects, based in London, lead
the team on ‘Lo Storto’ tower with its associated
residential and public amenity buildings.
• Arata Isozaki & Associates, based in Tokyo,
lead the team on ‘Il Dritto’ tower with
its associated residential and public amenity buildings.
• Pier Paolo Maggiora, based in Italy, lead the
team on further associated residential accommodation
incorporating two 15+ storey towers.
In total the project comprises some 150,000m2 of residential
accommodation; 100,000m2 of office space; public amenity
buildings up to approximately 97,000m2 and around 22,000m2
of service areas. A total area approaching four million
square feet.
