MAJOR
MoD REFURBISHMENT OPENED BY HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN

On 14th October 2004, Her Majesty the Queen officially opened
the refurbished Ministry of Defence (MoD) Headquarters in Whitehall.
|
|
This
100,000m² listed building has been totally refurbished
and converted from cellular accommodation to open plan
throughout. The project involved relocating approximately
3,000 people out of the Whitehall Main Building into refurbished
temporary accommodation and then back into the fully refurbished
and upgraded building. This was one of the first MoD projects
to be procured under the Government’s Private Finance
Initiative (PFI) and has been completed on programme and
within budget.

advisory team, responsible for all building services and
IT systems.
