County Hall is the former headquarters of the Greater London Council. This landmark building on the south side of the Thames adjacent to Westminster Bridge has been converted to two hotels with retail, restaurant and sports facilities.

Roger Preston & Partners was appointed to carry out full mechanical and electrical engineering services duties for both hotels. The company was also responsible for the concept design for the London Aquarium.

The sprinkler protection system meets the Marriott Hotel Group's particular requirements.

The Grade II listed building has been refurbished to the high standard expected of a large multinational hotel group.

The Mandarin was the first major luxury high rise hotel in Hong Kong and has since become one of the world's leading hotels.

The hotel has 585 guest rooms and first class dining and entertainment facilities. A feature of the hotel is the lobby area with Venetian crystal chandeliers and antique Chinese carved wood panels.

The air conditioning installation was one of the first to be fed from the Central District Sea Water Scheme which draws water from the harbour for heat rejection. The fire protection installations were designed in close collaboration with the Fire Services Department and the design philosophy formed on the basis of a new comprehensive Fire Code which was later adopted in Hong Kong.

The Company was responsible for all the plant which was installed to maintain the domestic water service at a time when the public water supply was severely rationed.
