Roger Preston & Partners was appointed as lead mechanical and electrical and building management systems consulting engineer for this prestigious project for Reykjavik City Council.

The building is low energy with a low maintenance design based on maximum use of natural resources.

The overall performance of the building was proved through computer modelling of environmental systems during design development.

Refurbishment works are carried out in the Grade I listed building during Parliament's summer recess as part of a long term programme.

The design and supervision of the installation of replacement switchgear and upgrading of the stand-by electrical supplies to give greater flexibility
Preparation of reports and recommendations for incorporating future upgrading of lighting and power supplies in the Chambers with consideration to energy saving

The Queen Elizabeth II Law Courts, Liverpool

Size: 28 Courtrooms and associated accommodation
   

The building, which houses 28 courtrooms as well as public concourses, office and ancillary accommodation, library, catering facilities and car park is air conditioned in all principle areas with mechanical ventilation elsewhere. Twenty five major packaged air handling units with associated return air systems were installed.
